Your wedding day!
Every minute should be enjoyed from the planning, preparation to the big day. This is the time when you both share your love and join with another family in union in front of friends and family.
The magic of the day and selected location will be reflected when we sit down together and plan from initial meeting to selecting readings, poems, stories songs and music that mean the most to both of you and how you came to fall in love.
Traditions and rituals may be something you wish to consider especially if there are different cultures and diversity that add to the occasion and magnificence of this celebration.
Sand Blending Ceremony
This is a visually beautiful ceremony that signifies the union and connection of two families. It is particularly lovely for children to take part and encourages the involvement of family members and friends. The different coloured sands merge to create a stunning image of your future love and life together and something you can keep too to remember your special day.
Handfasting Ceremony
This is where the phrase ‘tying the knot’ comes from! Cords, tartan or ribbons are fastened around the wrists of the couple getting married. It is a traditionally Celtic symbolic celebration illustrating the unity where hands are bound together in life and love.
The Rings
The weddings rings can be passed around on a ribbon or cord that is perhaps in the theme of the wedding colours. Special wishes, thoughts and love is expressed either verbally or physically by any family members or selected friends until the rings eventually arrive on the fingers of the happy couple.
Jumping the Broom
This is a fun ritual and for the physically fit! The idea is that you are both jumping into your new life together. It is a Celtic and African ritual symbolising starting anew, sharing your commitment, strength and love in your relationship.
Other rituals include
Quaich Ceremony
Cocktail Ceremony
Painting Ceremony
Lasso Ceremony
Tree planting ceremony
Oathing Stone ceremony
